Summary:
This position reports to the VP – US Operations. The individual will have responsibility for the development and implementation of projects. The individual will be responsible for a wide range of capital expenditure projects including the design, installation, and commissioning of equipment intended to enhance production, productivity, product quality, safety and protection of the environment.

- Salary range starting at $90,000, depending on experience
- Implement projects with high regard for occupational safety and health and the protection of the environment.
- Develop, prepare and maintain the sites capital plan.
- Implement projects to support the plan.
- Develop the scope, cost estimate, schedule and justification for projects. Utilize that information along with any impact on operating costs to prepare an RFA or other request to upper management. Presents and explains proposals, reports and/or findings to site personnel.
- Coordinate with product development so that processes required for new products can be successfully scaled-up.
- When applicable participate in the initial production runs of new products, providing a bridge between NPI and full-scale operations so as to create a smooth transition between the two scales of operation.
- Maintain involvement of personnel from other departments and train as needed to maximize benefits derived from projects.
- Provide troubleshooting services as needed on equipment and processes.
- Conducts outside testing, as required, to develop or evaluate new equipment or chemical processes.
- Design and plan equipment layouts. Where applicable manage external technical personnel providing engineering services.
- Analyze operating procedures and equipment and machinery functions to reduce processing time and/or cost or to obtain other benefits.
- Interface with vendors and outside contractors relating to the purchase of equipment and services for project implementation.
- Supervise contractor and/or LMT workers engaged in installation of new equipment.
- Contribute to a team environment by being a positive participant and accomplishing related results as necessary.
- Assist with development and preparation of a preventative maintenance system for the various processes.
- Responsible for outside contractors engaged in installation of new equipment.
- Understands and implements the company quality policy and system as it applies to their
- position, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and other quality documents. Understands and implements the plant, facilities, and equipment requirements of IATF 16949 & ISO 14001.
- Other duties within competence as requested.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret equipment manuals, engineering drawings, technical procedures, and professional journals.
- Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from peers, supervisors and subordinates
- Ability to perform calculations consistent with the professional practice of engineering
- The employee must be a self-starter, good communicator and be able to coordinate multiple projects involving numerous persons, departments, and groups inside and outside the company with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to utilize ERP and other software systems to analyze process performance.
- The role requires flexibility to meet the needs of the business, which may include extended hours, or occasionally night/weekend work.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, related to Mechanical, Process or Industrial required and at least 5 years’ related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- A P.E. license is desirable but not required.
- Experience creating and interpreting P&ID Diagrams and flow diagrams.
- Desired experience using AutoCAD.
- Experience managing projects and/or designing production processes/equipment in an industrial setting preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret relevant equipment manuals, drawings, technical procedures, and professional journals.
- Must be a self-starter, good communicator and be able to coordinate multiple projects involving numerous persons, departments, and groups inside and outside the company with minimal supervision.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and strong Excel skills.
- Demonstrated success utilizing continuous improvement methodologies to improve operational performance.
